These Arctic animals are housed in air-conditioned dens with only glass to separate visitors from the animals. Inuka the Polar Bear however has his own outdoor swimming pool where he enjoys going for a swim and greeting visitors underwater once in a while.
Feeding times are particularly popular so we advise you to go early and grab a good seat. The zoo similarly houses other interesting species such as the White Tigers, Tapir, Proboscis Monkeys, Red River Hogs, Pygmy Hippo and Mandrill. 26% of the animals in the Singapore zoo are endangered species!
Hand feeding is an exciting experience even for adults especially with the White Rhinoceros, Giraffe, Baboons, White Tigers and Lions.

Night Safari
An interesting concept and the first in the world, the Night Safari is a
place where visitors can walk on Wallaby trails, feed the Lions and
Tiger, ride on a buggy with an expert guide and get up-close and
personal with the animals. The Night Safari also houses the highly endangered Pangolin which is disappearing due to over-poaching. They have also successfully bred the Sunda Pangolin in the zoo!
The Leopard Trail is also one of the most popular trails as you can
watch Leopards, Civets and Slow Loris feed and come out at night. Other interesting animals include the Babirusa, Bongos and Servals in the East Lodge Trail.
River Safari - The World's First River Safari Zoo
The River Safari is where most visitors look forward to seeing the Giant Pandas, Manatees, Maned Wolf, Jaguar, Coatimundi and Emperor Tamarin. It also has the biggest freshwater aquarium in the world and river safari cruise where photography enthusiasts hope to snap a glimpse of undisturbed nature.
What's in Jurong Bird Park?
Jurong Bird Park is a multi award-winning bird park home to over 5000
birds. View The Jurong Falls - One Of The World’s Tallest Man Made
Waterfall and meet Penguins, Lories, Flamingos, Owls, Pelicans, Parrots,
Macaws & much more! Walk into the enclosures with free-roaming
birds and hand-feed some rare species too! It takes about 45 minutes or shorter via the highway to get to Jurong Bird Park from the city center.
Where's the Best Place to Stay in Singapore?
In terms of accommodation, you'll be spoilt for choice in Singapore as
there's a wide range of hotels ranging from Air BnB (The Pod), to luxury
hotels and resorts such as The Shangri La Rasa Sentosa, Marina Bay
Sands and Fullerton Bay Hotel.
However, the Marina Bay Sands hotel is
one of the most popular hotels in Singapore due to its location for the
F1 Night Race and also for its roof-top pool known as the "Infinity
Pool". Other hotels around the Singapore River are also good choices for
people interested in the river cruise and night life at Clarke Quay and
Boat Quay. From the city center, it takes approximately 30 minutes by
taxi to the Singapore zoo, Night Safari and River Safari.
How to get to the Singapore Zoo
For those who prefer to take public transportation, there are 4 stations relatively close to the zoo:

- Ang Mo Kio (Red Line) & Take Bus 138
- Marsiling (Red Line) & Take Bus 926
- Woodlands (Red Line) & Take Bus 926
For those who would like to try the newly-opened Downtown Line (Blue Line), you can take the train to Bukit Panjang Station from Bayfront (if you're staying at Marina Bay Sands Hotel), exit through EXIT B, then take a short taxi ride of about 15 minutes (depending on traffic) to the zoo if you'd like.
Train fares range from 77 cents to $2.50 (3.2km - 40 km) and the map can be downloaded here:

Those who would like to go on bus tours, there are other buses you can take to the zoo as well:
http://zoo.com.sg/visitor-info/singapore-attractions-express.html.
On weekends and public holidays, there are free shuttle buses available for visitors going to Jurong Bird Park and the Singapore zoo/ River Safari.
You'd be happy to know that by year 2020, all these 4 attractions will be housed in the same area as the Singapore zoo, so you can enjoy all walks of wildlife and fresh air in one day.
